How would you crop this?

So here's the original picture...

And here's how I cropped it...

Or would you crop it at all? Also, I used my 430EX bounced off a high ceiling and there are shadows that are harsher than I would have liked. How do you get rid of those? A reflector on the floor in front of the child? I'm going to try this one again soon for an easter card (I know - thinking ahead) and I'd like some options to play with... Thanks!

I actually like both versions, I love all the black space around it, but I also love the "in your face" crop. Both have their artistic value. Sorry, I'm really no help am I :P
Can't wait to hear what others say about the lighting and reflection, I'm curious too.

I am not a real photographer and I'm here to learn. Saying that the only thing I can say is there is something about his front arm and part of his finger in the front that looks like it is missing. I really like how you chose to crop the pic.

LOL - I doubt you could get teens to wear the flowers... unless you could PS them onto their favorite celeb's head? :) In fact, I couldn't even get my other DD to wear hers (she has a matching headband, only white and yellow rather than pink and yellow). She ripped it off as soon as I put it on. :)

I think I like the cropped version best. They're both nice!

I prefer the uncropped. The crop leaves enough that the eye WANTS to see the rest. It would be like cropping off toes but leaving the rest of the foot. To me anyway.
I agree with the poster above about her left pinky and for the same reason. And last yes, a reflector on the floor in front of your baby would fix the shadow on her chest.

Your children are beautiful, as is all of your work displayed. And you've got great saturation in your colours.
