Textures

I've been playing with a lot of texture lately. What do you think? I could imagine finding a photo like this tucked away in a grandmother's hope chest. I thought the antiqued look worked well for this type of photo.

Hows this?

I know there's been a lot of Teagan lately, but Meg just hasn't been sitting still long enough for pics and Colin runs from the camera (still !) :) So here's another one. With the 24-70L on my 5D. I turned down the sharpening slightly on my resize for web action. Better?
I'm not quite sure how a 1 year old can have that "look" down pat. She just looks at us sometimes with one eyebrow raised and it always cracks me up!

I love this "L"!

Ok - so I'm spoiled. I'm used to the sharpness I get with my primes and didn't ever think I could get even close to that with a zoom. But take a look at this! It's with my new 24-70L. I can't wait to use it more! I did run color pop on this and sharpen for web. But I tried the same thing with some of my other zooms and they didn't even come close to this sharpness! I think it gives my primes a run for their money!

Meggie's almost walking!

Ok - for most 14 month olds, using a push behind walker is something they have been doing for months! But our girls were born at 29.5 weeks and so they really aren't even a year old yet! Meg is on the verge of walking and Teagan is cruising around at her own pace! They have both been cruising for a while, but we had never thought to try them behind a walker. Meg absolutely loved it! It's not going to be long before they are both running after their big brother!

Discovering new life

Canon 5D 100mm 2.8 @ 1/1300 ISO 100
Teagan and I went outside while the other kids were sleeping and it was amazing watching her discover the world around her! Last summer she was much too little to really interact with her surroundings. This year I know she and Meg will both be running around discovering! It's going to be fun to watch! This shot was taken just after she tasted the clover and decided it wasn't good food!
