Ok - I was working on silhouettes yesterday and I really liked this one. I've never done anything like this before but the light coming in yesterday just begged for it. What do you think? CC and comments welcome!

This is so great! I love everyone of your photos! This one is a huge encouragement to try a backlit photo like this! Great job!

I really like this idea, but I think it'd look even better if the silhouette of the face was in focus, as opposed to the sticks he's holding. At least that's what looks like is in focus. Nice shot though!

I love this. I haven't done any silhouettes for a while. You've inspired me to try again. great shot!

Wow! This is pretty cool!

I agree w/Stephanie on the focus issue.

Also, I haven't really researched silhouette technique, but I think ideally you want a hint of facial features still visible. Then again, rules were meant to be broken!

I agree with the other about the focus, but I love this!!!!! I need to try this, would be neat to have a could large ones of the kids to frame!! Thanks!!

ITA about the focus - I'm not sure why it chose to focus on the spaghetti (that's what he's holding!) :) I'm going to post the original too (without PP) because it showed a lot more detail... Off to upload it!

Ok - the other one is posted! Up for HHCC on it! :) Totally out of my comfort zone... But that's what this challenge is all about right?

I think I like the first one best. I would like the focus a little more on his face but both are great.

Great job on a silhouette. I've been practicing but just can't quite get it yet. I would also prefer one that was more focused on his face.

I love the fact that you actually manufactured the silhouette. That's neat... and apparently takes skill. I really likew it! One comment: Collin would be better isolated and his form better projected if you airbrushed out the part of Sammie's head that lingers at the point where his back reaches frame right. Ok, two comments: is it possible to lighten only the bottom portion of his hand and the spagetti so it will show up more? Without that it's harder to tell he's holding something as opposed to some random thing sticking up around in that area.
