Our girls turn 1 today and in honor of them I wanted to post some more of their birthday pictures. A few of you wanted to see pictures from the shoot with cake all over. So here you go! If you have tips about how to shoot with white backgrounds and a speedlite I'd be thrilled to hear it!

It's amazing to look back on "older" pictures and realize how much you've learned since then. I took these last week and already I see a big difference between these and the ones I took yesterday with the same white background. I was using a speedlite for bounced flash here and had the girls too close to the backdrop (hence the shadows around them). I think shooting with natural light is easier for a setup like this, where I don't have any studio lights yet. WDYT?
Happy Birthday to your girls! I love the cake photos - lots of fun!
These are really fun. I personally like the ones iwth the purple hats better, the purple seems to make for a *richer* coloered picture. I love the whole idea and yoru set up. Great job!
Hi, I'm not sure how else to ask you a question. Just wondering, how you put that picture in at the top of your blog. I have the same template as you and can't figure it out. Any help you could give would be great.

Ps, love the site and great pics!!
First off I would die for shots like these of my kids. I knew nothing about photography when they were small. They will really appreciate these when they are older. They are adorable with the cake all over them. Great captures.
Love the pictures! And the cake looks yummy.

I love your pics! And I have the same question about inserting the blog header. Can you tell me how, too? andersonpm@verizon.net
