I love this "L"!
Ok - so I'm spoiled. I'm used to the sharpness I get with my primes and didn't ever think I could get even close to that with a zoom. But take a look at this! It's with my new 24-70L. I can't wait to use it more! I did run color pop on this and sharpen for web. But I tried the same thing with some of my other zooms and they didn't even come close to this sharpness! I think it gives my primes a run for their money!

Love those eyes! What color pop did you use? I am so glad you like your new lens! ENJOY!
Look at that gorgeous red hair! have a red head too but he's a little more on the strawberry side. So, you're impressed with the zoom. I had decided to stikc with primes for the same reason you did, but I've been thining lately that a zoom would be helpful, just not an "L" zoom though. I don't think I could convince hubby to spend that much at the moment!
Chris
Yep, this is the best zoom I have and used...but I actually think this is slightly oversharpened. I think with the 5D, it may be too much sharpening.
She's so adorable, wonderful shot. Glad to her you liking you new lens.
Love the color on this photo - her hair, her eyes, and the balloon. Gorgeous.
I have to say...I'm absolutely nuts over that red hair!vt
look at that gorgeous kid!!! Great shot and color pop! Only thing that looks odd to me is that watermark - like you edited after you added it? Don't know!
lovely work, kim... really great!! you are such a lucky girl - i wanna be like you!! lol!! :)
Thanks everyone!
Lindsey - I use Jinky's actions. This is her Simple Color 1.
Chris - I hadn't used zooms in ages because I hated how they looked in comparison. I did try the Sigma 24-70 and I think I must have gotten a bad copy. I hated it! That might be one to consider though - IQ is supposed to be similar to the L. It's just not weather sealed, and the AF is slow and noisy. It's quite a bit less...
Mom2Drew - It's actually an action I made that automatically sharpens for web. Maybe I need to dial it down a bit?
Thanks Amy, Dar, Trisha & Melissa! :)
Jen - Nope - I put the watermark on and just saved it. Maybe in the upload it got skewed slightly somehow? All resizing and sharpening was done prior to the watermark.
Actually Kim, I think you're resizing your pictures a tad smaller than they are posted on your blog. If I click the image and it opens all by itself it's a tiny bit smaller, but I think that's what's making the jaggies in the watermark. I've noticed it in other parts of your images too. THen again, maybe it's just firefox being crazy on me ;)
