Beautiful newborn!

I visited a friend in the hospital this past weekend and took some pictures of her precious little boy. He's a beautiful newborn and is so peaceful! I'm going to be taking some more formal shots of him when they come visit and I'd love some tips on newborn shots! What do you like? I ordered some newborn angel wings so I'll have those and I'd like to get some with this little guy and his older brother too (his brother is 18 months). I'll be using natural light...

These are precious!
From a very newbie, it seems the focus is on the forehead and then the blankets.
I think the composition is great on the lower one.

Thanks! I'm thinking by "focus" you mean that your eye is drawn to those spots because they are lighter? The actual focus point is his eye (closest to the camera) and that's sharp in the non web version. I do like the 2nd one I just wish the background was a bit less distracting. :)

Sweet shots, love the feet and hands. Great captures.

I really love the feet in the hands picture. Just love to see the bottom of newborns feet. Really captured the detail. Also love the one of his sleeping face. TFS

How sweet. Love the shot of the feet with the hands. I sure wish I had gotten shots of my kids feet when they were little. Not so pretty now.

gorgeous shots!! i think the face one looks a bit soft too - but that could just be the web like you said!
love love love the composition of the second one - could you crop it a bit tighter to make the back less distracting?
just my humble opinion...i'm only learning... :)
great job!
